| Introduction: |
The Gulf Medical College - Royal Australian College of General Practitioners' Training Program in Family Practice is the first of its kind introduced to provide
high quality training for Medical Graduates to obtain General Practice training in the UAE in association with the UAE Ministry Of Health.
GMC-RACGP-MOH Training Program in Family Practice is a three year full-time program that allows participants to gain valuable practical experience in teaching hospitals, rural and urban medical centres which provide health care for these communities.
Trainees who successfully complete all training requirements and the relevant
examinations become eligible to be awarded the Joint GMC-RACGP-MOH Program Fellowship.
Fellows of the GMC-RACGP-MOH Program qualify to work as general practitioners in UAE after completion of registration with the relevant licensing
authorities. The three year Training Program in Family Practice beginning in March 2008, consists of 18 months of Hospital Based Training and 18 months of Community Based Training. |

| Accreditation |
The GMC-RACGP-MOH has full recognition in New Zealand, Ireland, Hong Kong and Malaysia and is recognised as a "gold standard" by the national member organizations of WONCA, including the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, South Africa and many other (70 countries represented).
The fellowship holders are exempted from having to undertake AMC certification to enter Australia, Doctors with GMC-RACGPMOH enter Austrlia via the Specialist Pathway.

A. Training (Three Years)
A minimum training period of three years is considered necessary
for the basic training in Family Practice because this discipline has
a broad knowledge and skill base. It also requires extensive clinical
exposure in order to develop the necessary attitudes appropriate
for a primary care physician. 18 months of the three years will be
hospital based and 18 months will be community based. |
Training in Australia (optional)
All candidates during the residency program are eligible to do their
residency for 3 to 6 months in Australia. You will be assisted to get
your visa and stay arrangements (costs will be charged on actual) |
B. The Conjoint GMC RACGP-MOH Fellowship Examination
The written segments of the Conjoint GMC-RACGP-MOH
Fellowship Examination can be taken as follows |
Part I Examination:- Can be taken after satisfactory completion of
at least 18 months of Hospital Based Training, with in course
progressive assessments.
Part II Clinical Examination:- Can be taken on satisfactory
completion of 18 months of Community Based Training and the
candicate must have successfully completed the Part I
Examination. |

| FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM |
The Training Program offers UAE Ministry Of Health
accredited clinical and community postings, which
meet, or exceed RACGP requirements. Hospital
rotations will be available at leading hospitals, as well
as rural and urban centres/community PHC centres.
Accredited general practice rotations range from solo
to small, medium to large group practices. Our GP
trainers and practice managers attend regular training
and are provided with ongoing support and resources
to ensure they are well equipped to provide quality
on-site teaching and supervision.
Incentives and opportunities for our Trainees include
training support, IT training, the latest in web-based
education and administration, and input into all
aspects of program development and management
through positions of representation.
GMC complements its core training program by
offering a broad range of special skills postings and
advanced community skills postings to ensure the
interests and needs of trainees within our program are
met. |
A group of very dedicated and enthusiastic GP
supervisors and medical educators provide high
quality GP training in practices with well-established
support structures. Whole patient care is provided in
towns linked to smaller rural hospitals and many of
the practices provide the opportunity for procedural
work with full and appropriate backup.

| SELECTION REQUIREMENTS |
Qualified Medical Graduates are welcome to apply to
Gulf Medical College, Ajman for the GMC-RACGPMOH
Program.
GMC provides the highest standards of education.
However, applicants should satisfy certain standards
to be admitted to the GMC - RACGP - MOH.
The following are the minimum requirements for
admission into the GMC-RACGP-MOH program in
GMC. The candidate must show capability to pursue
an academic career and research. Minimum
requirements include:
- A Bachelors degree in Medicine, from a
University/Institute listed in WHO directory of
medical schools.
- Distinct undergraduate performance of at least
GPA of 3 on a 4-point scale, or equivalent grade
("B") and IOL.
- Satisfactory Completion of 1 year Internship.
- English language proficiency test score of 560 for
TOEFL and 7.0 for IELTS.

| APPLICATION PROCEDURE |
Prospectus and application forms are available at the college office and will be mailed on
request. The duly completed application form for admission accompanied by a fee of AED. 150/-
by Demand Draft in favour of Gulf Medical College, payable at Ajman should be submitted to the
college office within the stipulated time. The college is not responsible for any loss or delay in
postal services. Cash remittance of the fee is acceptable only when the application is submitted
in person.

| HOW TO APPLY |
The program application is available online. |
The program applications for admission should be received on or
before two months from the date of start of the
program.
Applications received after the deadline will be
considered, only if vacancies exist in the program
and if the necessary documents can be processed in
time for registration.
The following documents are required:
- Application form with all entries completed.
- M.B.B.S or M.D Degree certificate from a
recognized University / Institute. The certificate
must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.
- Internship completion certificate.
- Copy of applicant's passport.
6. Six recent personal passport size photographs.
7. Relevant academic and professional experience
certificate, if any.
